Falafel..tasty
vegetarian patties for great sandwiches.
Servings: about 30
patties.
½ pound dried chick peas
soaked overnight
½ pound skinless fava
beans soaked overnight
4 cloves crushed garlic
3 dl finely chopped onion
200 g leek
1 tbsp baking soda
2 tbsp flour
2 dl chopped parsley
2 tsp ground coriander
2 teaspoons jeera cumin
1 tbsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Oil for frying

Rinse the peas and the
beans and drain well.
Grind all ingredients in
food processor to a very fine consistency.
Let the paste stand in a
bowl in room temperature for an hour.
Make patties out of the
paste ( about 2 tablespoons each) and set aside
for 10-15 minutes.
Fry patties in hot oil
until golden brown and move to a plate topped
with kitchen paper to suck the
the excess oil.
Serve warm with tahini
sauce, green salad and fresh Arabic or pita
bread. |
