Huun Autumn Tourism Festival – Libya

The Autumn Tourism Festival is organized by the people of Huun in the Libyan desert. The tranquil and beautiful oasis invites visitors from allover the world to discover its hidden treasures and beauty. Huun opens its gates even wider by the beginning of October every year.

The friendly people of Huun started this activity in 1996, and since then it became a tradition that must be taken care of every October. The return of Queen Nefertiti

When the 2^nd World War broke out, most of the precious pieces of art displayed in Berlin´s Museum Island were evacuated.

Among them was this famous bust of Egyptian queen Nefertiti. Nefertiti which means “the beauty to come”, was the chief wife of Pharoah Akhenaten of Egypt. Now all Berlin’s Egyptian Museum’s precious treasures are once again under the same roof after more than 60 years of separation. Queen Nefertiti’s 50 cm high bust was discovered by the German archaeologist Ludwig Borchardt in 1912 and it was transferred to Berlin’s museum some ten years later.
